Remote Bridge Control System
The Remote Bridge Control system provides bridge operations personnel the ability to perform automatic bridge opening and closing sequences from a local control console with a graphical user interface (GUI) permitting visual contact, or from any network connected to the bridge via Wide Area Network (WAN), or virtual private network (VPN) using the internet (all remote connections are 3DES encrypted). The console displays critical bridge status data, complete with real-time, streaming video feeds to monitor surrounding rail and river traffic.
For times when the bridge is unmanned and left in an open state, railroad engineers and shipyard personnel can perform
automatic bridge closing operations from secured operator terminals at each bridge arrival point or any network location. Operators log on to access bridge control screens with a user id and password. Logging credentials determine if an individual has the authority to operate the bridge, control the cameras only, or observe bridge operation only.
